Background

I am an experienced PC analyst with over 12 years of formal experience in the field. Additionally, I have been a computer hobbyist since my childhood in '70's. My first experience was rebuilding, (with a friend) a Lear Siegler ADM 3(?) terminal for use with the the information service "The Source" that I had found in a neighbors trash can. Of course back then Information services were hideously expensive and my parents were in no position to pay for something they considered of dubious value, so I sold it to a student at George Mason University, who was going to use to hack into their mainframe, or something. After that I was relegated to bothering the salesmen at Radio Shack so I could play with the new TRS 80's. My family then moved Florida where Technology was almost non-existent. My parents still thought computers were of dubious value and would only burn an image into the the TV, but luckily I had friends who were kind and was introduced to the Commodore VIC 20, Apple II+ and after saving my pennies working at Publix, I finally bought my first real computer; a Timex Sinclair 1000. After Graduating from Miami Sunset SR High in 1983, (Where they finally bought Atari 800's) I joined the US Air Force and became an Electrical Power Production specialist. In this position I served mainly at Strategic Air Command facilities. My first assignment (at age 18) was maintaining power systems for Minuteman III Nuclear Missile silos and control facilities. I also had experience with 24/7 Power generation at a Troposcatter Radio relay facility in Italy. This gave me firsthand experience in what "24/7/365 mission critical" really means and that experience serves me to this day.
