Static Opera: The Beginning.
Static Opera was the prototypical Industrial Goth type Band from Orlando Fl.
Originally formed in the living room of Rick Miller's Apt on S Rio Grande as
something to do to have fun with this Japanese Exchange Student who played
guitar. His name escapes me but we may have called him Shinjiro. The Band as
such started with Justin Great House- Guitar/Samplers, Edwin Rosado- Synths/Programmign,
William Herrera/Vocals/Synths Etc. Shinjiro went back to Japan after a nice
party but the Band Stayed on.
Ahhh
the hair.. most people lived through the 80's -- We were the '80's!
The
Name Static Opera came from Justin's girlfriend, Laura who came up with it
after a group sit and smoke. (More on this later) Other members included
Dave "Xevious" Hibbs on Bass then Karine Juban on Bass. At the time I took the
Stage name of William Sixlove (after a character from the Computer Game
Portal by Rob Swigart) We Practiced alot (sort of) and played played a
little. 3 gigs maybe. before we broke up. (one of the gigs wias the infamous 4th
of July Roman Holiday at the now defunct beach club in Downtown Orlando. Where
yours truly got the snot beat out of him by the Local Skinheads in between Gigs.
The music was fun to do and sounded better live methinks.
