Accounts
of the battles of Gulf Wars 9 as told by Lord William de Cordoba
the following excerpt comes for Lord
Tomonaga, an Ansteorran Archer and Siege engineer of renown.
"T
That would have been me, my squire
sister Lady Elena, my knight Sayyid Kalim and Lord Janos (who built said
projectiles.), dropping things on you guys! First we dropped the
Harpsichord. It actually landed in front of your covered Ram, stopping its
forward momentum. Then my knight and I dropped the "ACME" Anvil,
(made with pride in Anvilania) I watched the land on the top, then the ram
collapsed. That put the kibbosh on your gate attack. I about bust a nut
when I heard we took it out. I couldn't see the damage 'cause I was too
busy ducking the 5 bazillon arrows you all loosed into us. However my man
at arms took video of it and it looks hilarious. I guarantee a hastier
retreat from our postion you have NEVER seen.
I then picked up my Crossbow and shot
the gunner of one of the ballistas on the Black Widows breach side. I
pretty much used most of my ammo suppressing Ballista crews archers or
spearmen from then on out. After I ran out of ammo, I went out heavy with
the Princes guard and died gloriously heading out of the sally port. The
First Fort battle for me sucked though. I was assigned to supply sniper
fire to cover our Ram crew. But then your people poured out of the gate
like a sea of swords and I got tacked while trying to withdraw.
The Archer only battles were
great. The Ansteorrans really have some great shots. But, we played
territory control tactics and were able to establish foothold to provide a
good cross fire. The second battle was very tight. The res battle was
super cool lots of back and forth action. But after controlling both
movable pavises we were finally able to get the upper hand (Not to toot my
horn, but I'm the one who captured your teams pavise and led the advance
heheheheh) .
I threw Javelins in the Ravine battle
mostly and played with a pole ax. The ravine battle was very interesting
from a CA view though. We were out numbered 3 to 1 but with our Archers we
were able to take and maintain control of key areas. It wasn't until the
archers had to pull out after 30min. that we started to lose the middle.
All the opposing spearmen came out and made it a gibbing fest and we could
not stop the hemorrhaging.
